Behold the Lamb

We all hold resurrection day in such high honor as we should, celebrating its miracle redemption power. It is a beautiful cornerstone of our faith. Yet sometimes we fail to pause for the sacred moment of Good Friday when our savior laid down his life for us in His ultimate act of love.

I painted this newly born lamb, in celebration of Good Friday.  He is coming out of the darkness and into the light.  He is being revealed.  Hidden in the hay beneath his feet, is the cross and crown, as well as the blood.

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”  John 1:29

“No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.”  John 10:18
