About Kim

“Creation and nature always amaze me! And I love painting the human story”

Why do you paint?

When I first took up a paintbrush in hand something inside of me came alive. I feel the pleasure of God inside and a deep connection with Him as I paint. The connection between worship, prayer and intercession goes hand in hand with the movement of paint and my heart. Whether it is the beauty of creation, or rendering the joy, courage and brokenness of the human story. I am always attempting to tap into the heart of God as I paint, in order touch, heal and impact others.(the viewer)

The Father has given us so much and wants us to share with Him in all he has created. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the expanse of heavens is declaring the work of His hands. Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there spoken words from the stars; Their voice is not heard. Yet their voice(in quiet evidence) has gone out throughout all the earth.” Psalm 19:1-4

What inspires you?

Creation and nature always amaze me. Seeing as an artist changes how you see everything in the  world. My eyes are open to discover light and how it transforms everything in its path, from the deep forest to the shinning sea. It’s truly quite remarkable to have lived much of my life lived without this perspective. I want and wish that all of us could enjoy this powerful gift of seeing throughh the eyes of an artist.

My goal is to stay in the mindset of creativity which to me is in deep connection to the creator. I’m always asking,“What’s on your heart? What are you doing today? What are you see and what do you want to say through this piece?”

I love the depth of beauty and diversity that exists in the land. It both inspires and captivates me. It does me good to sit in it and allow the stillness and peace to soak into my soul. It brings me life and is such a tremendous privilege to attempt to capture it.

I also love painting the human story. I shared history contains deep measures of courage, delight, resilience, joy and struggle that long to be captured in artistic form. My goal is to allow the viewer to experience deep, connection to the subject, ideally changing them as well. My desire is to paint for impact.
